American Heart Association and Red Cross Blood Pathogen Course

  • 12 Steps

About

The American Heart Association offers a comprehensive training program on bloodborne pathogens, designed to meet the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements when combined with site-specific instruction. This course is ideal for individuals who may encounter bloodborne pathogens, such as correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, and more. It teaches the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) to help students remember the training and know how to act in case of exposure. Additionally, the American Red Cross provides an online format course on bloodborne pathogens, focusing on how they are spread and the work practice controls to prevent exposure incidents.
